Our little house is now a grand old dame! A little bit worse for the wear, but looking forward to riding out the next 100 years in style.
Since it is our house’s birthday I am going to be nice, but there are worse photos I could have used here and here. Our house “before” looking every inch her age.
Our house now…{the same rooms as in the before photos} I hope when I am almost one hundred years old that someone will come along and restore me!
p.s. Our house is a little sad because she wanted a new kitchen for her birthday. Maybe for Christmas?
Happy Birthday!! My home is 8 years shy of the century mark. You’ve done an amazing job so far and you’ve been an inspiration. Can’t wait to see how the kitchen turns out.
Well a Happy Birthday to your little bungalow! I just found you through: “best websites for old house DIYers” and you were on the list! We’re restoring an old Craftsman too so I’m going to have a good look around your place for some ideas.
Happy, Happy Birthday 1912 Bungalow! You look amazing for your age! What a beautiful transformation!! Keep going Heather and hubby–you are almost at the finish line–can’t wait to see what you do with the kitchen. I’m sure it will be perfect.
I’ve been with you from the beginning, mostly lurking. Still missing Simon and Lulu–they were the cutest:)
You are to be commended for your initial vision and subsequent hard work. Our house turned 100 last year. We had a party and invited friends, neighbors, trades people who worked on it, the historical society and even some descandents of the original family. It was fun for all.
Lookin’ good! I hope ours looks as good for its 100th birthday in a couple of years.
Very excited to have found your blog and look forward to reading more ! My home was built in 1917 and is a bungalow as well…just started a blog not too long ago and some pics are there. I had to move in right away and everytime I see someone that restored all of the original woodwork as you did I practically start drooling. I am going to drool over your pictures some more now : )
Aw, thanks!
I still cannot get over your fabulous bathroom! My husband and I are redoing our condo bathroom. I was set on doing a limestone-ish floor with creamy-white tiles, but when we went shopping and I spotted marble-like ceramic tiles in grey and white I was reminded of your bathroom, and in an instant I changed the color scheme. My husband was in complete agreement. We just got the floor done and now we’re so excited to do the tiling and painting. We’ll choose white tiles, and we’ve already got a slightly blue-tinged grey for the walls. Hopefully we’ll end up with a bathroom that is as light, bright, clean, and elegant as yours!
You both have such great taste and fantastic talent, it would be very cool if you could go into the old house remodeling business, even if just consulting, to help others with great old houses bring them back to their original beauty.
Thanks for your sweet message! Best of luck with your bathroom.
Happy Birthday To Your New House! Guess What my date of birth is also 25 April. But I am not 100 years old. But I must Say you people have maintained that 100 years old house pretty nicely.
Happy Birthday!! Mine is getting close – only 3 more years!
