No matter how long I have been doing this, selecting a paint color never gets any easier. Sigh…I like to see the paint color on the walls to see how it looks in the light of the room and at different times throughout the day.
There is something about the lighting in our house where color goes completely wonky. Grey colors turn green, green colors turn grey, blue colors turn purple…Thank God for sample pots!
No matter how a color looks in the store or in photos, it looks nothing like that in my house. And I’m the kind of person who spends hours at the paint store, taking the samples out side to see them in natural daylight.
I’ve finally narrowed it down to two choices. David and our contractor like one color and I prefer the other. Now I am starting to doubt myself! Which color should we pick?

That is a hard choice!!
I think both would look great, but I think I’m leaning slightly towards the “Secret AF-710″ because the grey is a tad warmer than the blue.
Also, I have the same issue you do with colors. So glad they started carrying the sample jars at our local hardware store!

Both colors are nice, but I like the gray one on the right a little better. I recently painted one of my bedrooms light gray and it looks really nice. I had to paint it twice, though. The first coat was too blue (colorants black+blue). The second coat was better (colorants black+yellow).

I hope I’m on the same side you are, but I would go with the New Providence Navy (judging from my screen, at least). I am totally into gray lately (especially with yellow), but something about that color on the right doesn’t seem to mesh with the architectural features.

From what the paint chips look like on my monitor, I vote for gray. But of course, how to really judge without having seen them on the wall throughout the day?
I am leaning towards secret! Personally, I feel as if I would get tired of the the grayish blue.
