Wall of Inspiration

Soft, Faded Text

Inspiration, Paint, Wall Treatments

We were recently at a restaurant and I fell in love with this wall! I love the color, texture and large faded text.

The vintage industrial lights are perfect with the wall.

I can’t quite see this look in my bungalow…but the wall color and industrial lights are amazing.

Stenciling and putting up fabric with starch water rolled on the wall are easier to change alternatives to wallpaper. There are some great stencils at

The Prairie ones are period appropiate but very modern looking.

That lotus wallpaper sure looks like something William Morris or Voysey designed. The stencil library is pricey, but has tons of patterns. Or maybe you could get a sample and make your own.

Great thing about stencilling is that you can be as subtle or as bold as you like. A type of Xerox transfer might be possible too, especially with the letters. Or project pattern, trace and paint.

Masking the edges with Miskit (sp?)used for watercolor painting) might be easier, then you could just lightly sponge in the letters. For a lot, a stencil would be cheaper and easier if you can line it up well.
