Why We Buy Fakes

Lamp_BestBuds.jpg

Cute aren't they? It is hard to be mad at them, but after our lamp shade broke for the FOURTH time they start to look less cute. Oh, ok, I still find them cute. After the 3 previous breaks, I placed the lamp up high, thinking there was NO WAY they could knock it over.

But, leave it to these scamps to figure out a way. They were chasing each other and playing. Jack the cat got caught up in the lamp cord, took off running as Winston the dog chased him. The lamp came crashing down.

All I could think was THANK GOD we never invested several thousand dollars in a Handel! I contacted Robert Abbey, the maker of our lamp, and was relieved to learn that they still have a shade available even though the lamp has been discontinued.

Update:
You can contact Robert Abbey by phone or through email. The lamp's style number is: 9830 RST.

They are sooo cute. Especially love the dog. My sister has 3 big dogs (labs) and she hasn't had anything on her coffee table in years...one swiff of the tail and it all ends up on the floor.

How did you contact the company? We have the same lamp and also need to replace the shade. Thank you.

They are too cute to be mad at! ;) You are smart to buy fakes, I mean, unless you were planning to use it as an investment or something, why not save the money and worry?
