Church-alow?
Our neighborhood has many buildings that began their lives as bungalows but have been converted, sometimes almost unrecognizably, into buildings now used for commerce. I have taken to calling these buildings was-alows. It was a bungalow, now it is something else.
What was a residential area is now a commercial corridor lined with little shops, markets and even churches.
From the outside, many of the original bungalow features remain intact and are obviously recognizable.
The original wood siding has been stuccoed over. A bell tower with a cross has been added.
From this angle the bungalow features are still prominent.
