2 Tons Of Fun
The following conversation transpired over instant messenger.
10:53:33 a.m. Heather: hola!
10:54:04 a.m. David: hola
10:55:25 a.m. Heather: Did you order more rocks?
10:55:35 a.m. David: Going in a little bit
10:56:01 a.m. Heather: K
1:33:37 p.m. David: Ordered 600 more lbs of rocks and 2000 lbs of sand
1:57:07 p.m. Heather: Rock ON
1:57:16 p.m. David: yep
1:57:28 p.m. Heather: Do we need 200 lbs. of sand?
1:57:34 p.m. David: 2000 lbs, 2 tons!
1:57:38 p.m. Heather: What?!
1:57:42 p.m. David: Supposedly that's how much we need
1:57:43 p.m. Heather: That's too much
1:58:15 p.m. David: That's how much we need for 2 inches of sand to underlay the rocks
1:59:00 p.m. Heather: For how much space? We don't need that much. That's too much.
1:59:55 p.m. David: I said for a 10 ft by 6 ft area
2:00:08 p.m. Heather: Are we putting in our own beach?
2:00:12 p.m. David: Cutie!
2:00:22 p.m. Heather: I don't trust that estimate
2:01:04 p.m. David: It might be a little more than we need
2:01:22 p.m. Heather: like 1000 lbs more...
2:01:27 p.m. David: m
2:01:30 p.m. Heather: You realize we will have to move 2000 lbs of sand ourselves
2:01:33 p.m. David: yup
2:01:37 p.m. Heather: We don't even own a wheel barrel
2:01:43 p.m. David: That's gonna be our Saturday. Shovel, we'll use a shovel.
2:01:51 Heather: You mean the one shovel we own? I'm thinking 200 lbs seems like a lot
2:02:06 p.m. David: 200 lbs. of sand won't even cover half the space we need. 2 tons of sand sounds right
--This is where I come to terms with the fact that David is absolutely set on having 2 tons of sand dumped onto our driveway this Saturday no matter what I say--
2:03:11 p.m. Heather: ok
--Yet, never one to go down without a fight and just for the record--
2:06:34 p.m. Heather: It sounds like too much to me
--This is where David needs to cover his ass or he will hear "I told you so" for the next 3 weeks--
2:06:58 p.m. David: you could be right
--After getting no response David decides to offer up a white flag--
2:08:03 p.m. David: well, worse comes to worse, we'll just build some sandcastles

2 tons is 4000 lbs. This may have just got better.
