I'm planning to buy a baby grand.
I love the color of your piano. What is the name of the color?

Somehow it just isn't an old house without a beautiful old piano is it? My Mom has a beautiful old Baby Grand like yours that I sat many hours at. Now I have an old upright--huge and heavy in my Bungalow that fits right in. Way to go!

I'm not sure how I found your site originally but I'm impressed by it. I live in Vancouver BC Canada and we too have been involved in a (going on 5 year) renovation. We are in the home stretch now (no pun intended) and there have been times throughout the process that I could have thrown in the towel (many, many times). Our house is a 1912 three storey Edwardian style which we have carefully restored and updated - we first had to actually pick it up and move it over on the lot in order to raise the money required to renovate it (we subdivided the site). Anyways, your sense of humor and diligence in documenting and posting your efforts is a great contribution to those who are out there wondering if they'll ever get through their own renovations and whether their passion and devotion (read obsession) to their home is something they should seek psychiatric help. It's nice to know other people love their historical homes as much as we do and care about their precious craftsmanship and details. I relate to your writings - I can't believe the similarities (I too have red/strawberry blond hair) but instead of two dogs we have two cats. No kids yet, but now, close to the end of reno's, we're thinking hey, it might be time. Bravo for sharing and giving us a much needed chuckle..

My jealousies don’t end with the piano. Wow, you guys are living in my dream house! The next time someone asks me what I hope our house will eventually look like, I’ll just point them to your site. Thanks for sharing!

It's beautiful and looks like it was made for your space. Like Heather, we would love to have a baby grand, but just don't have the room. Enjoy!

WAAAAAHHHHH! I am SOOOOO jealous. Even if I had the money, my bungalow has no room for a grand piano...even if it is still a baby! :) The closest thing we have is my daughter's toy "grand" piano.
